Therapy for Individuals and Couples in New York

What happens when we slow down enough to really listen—to ourselves, to another person, and to what is happening between us?

We all develop ways of adapting to the relationships and environments we grow up in. Those adaptations may have helped us navigate difficult circumstances, but over time they can become automatic patterns that limit our relationships, our choices, and our sense of possibility.

Therapy can help you become more aware of those patterns and, importantly, create more freedom in how you respond. My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens in relationships.

Together, we create a space for greater awareness, compassion, creativity, and choice.

More connection. More curiosity. More freedom to choose.

  • Experience more connection

  • Make more conscious choices

  • Find greater clarity and peace

  • Bring more vitality into your relationships and your life

  • Individual Therapy

Therapy offers space to slow down, understand the patterns that shape your life, and explore new ways of responding. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-awareness, connection, and freedom in how you live, relate, and make choices.

  • Couples Therapy

When the same conflicts keep repeating, it can be hard to feel heard, understood, or connected. Informed by Imago Relationship Therapy, my work helps couples navigate differences with greater curiosity, understanding, and connection.

Listen.

To what you feel.
To what you need.
To what your body is telling you.
To what you may have learned not to hear.

Look.

At the patterns that shape your relationships.
At the stories you have been living inside.
At what happens between you and the people you love.
At possibilities you may not have seen before.

When we can listen and look with greater awareness, we have more freedom to choose what we want to bring to our relationships.

The Space Between Us Matters

Much of what happens in our lives happens in our relationships.

The attention, assumptions, fears, curiosity, care, and energy we bring into our relationships all become part of the space between us. That relational space can reinforce old patterns, or it can become a place where something new is possible.

In therapy, we pay attention to that space.

What are you bringing into it?
What are you receiving from it?
What patterns keep repeating?
And what might change if you approached that space differently?

My work draws from Imago Relationship Therapy, Jungian and relational approaches, AEDP, Family Systems, mindfulness, and somatic awareness, along with more than 30 years of experience as an actor, writer, and director.

The goal isn't simply to understand yourself better. It's to develop greater awareness and practical tools so you can make more conscious choices in your relationships and your life.

“The thing I love about working with Scott is that he is authentic. He talks to me like a real person, in language I can understand. He gives me practical, useful tools that actually help me in my life.”
